# Connect SiteMinder / Little Hotelier

If your rooms are sold through **SiteMinder** or **Little Hotelier**, the guest portal receives the reservations automatically. Every guest gets a portal link with online check-in, the tourist tax, the deposit and the stay guide. Each booking arrives with its dates, the number of adults and under-18s, the guest's name, email, phone and address, the channel (Booking.com, Expedia …), the channel's own reservation number and the price. Changes and cancellations follow.

The connection uses SiteMinder's **pmsXchange** interface. The guest portal holds one connection for all its hosts. You only enter your **hotel code**.

## 1. Find your SiteMinder hotel code

Your hotel code identifies your property at SiteMinder. You find it in the SiteMinder platform under your property settings, or ask SiteMinder support. Then ask SiteMinder to connect your property to **Guestbud** as its PMS (under **Distribution → Connectivities**) and to map your room types.

## 2. Enter it in your dashboard

1. Open **Settings → Channels → SiteMinder / Little Hotelier**.
2. Enter your **SiteMinder hotel code**.
3. Tick **Enabled** and click **Test** (it saves first). You should see *Connected* and the number of room types.

A hotel code can be used by one account only.

## 3. Link your properties to room types

Every property in the guest portal corresponds to one SiteMinder **room type** (for an apartment, typically one room type per apartment).

1. Click **Show listings** in the SiteMinder card. You see every room type mapped in SiteMinder, with its code.
2. **New in the guest portal?** Leave them ticked and click **Add selected as properties**.
3. **Already created a property by hand?** Untick it and enter the room type code (for example `DR`) under **Settings → Properties → Settings → SiteMinder room type code**.

## 4. How reservations arrive

- **New, changed and cancelled reservations** arrive within seconds or minutes, depending on how the platform is connected (the card tells you which).
- A reservation with **several rooms** becomes one booking per room, each on its own property.
- If a reservation is for a room type that is **not linked yet**, it waits. The SiteMinder card lists the waiting reservations, and they are imported as soon as you link the room type.
- Your check-in data, payments and notes are never overwritten by a change from SiteMinder.

## What is not available

- **Guest chat:** SiteMinder offers no guest-messaging interface, so the guest portal sends the link and messages **by email**.
- **Availability and rates** stay in SiteMinder and your channel manager. The guest portal does not change them.

## For platform operators

The operator sets up the pmsXchange connection once for all hosts, under **Admin → Platform settings → SiteMinder**. This needs a partnership agreement with SiteMinder, which then provides the RequestorID (PMS code), the endpoints and the credentials.

- **Push** (recommended by SiteMinder): give SiteMinder the push address shown in the card and the inbound user name and password. SiteMinder then sends every reservation to the guest portal and retries until it is accepted. Reservations for unknown hotel codes are rejected, so SiteMinder informs the hotel.
- **Pull:** the guest portal asks SiteMinder every 3 minutes for waiting reservations and confirms each one.
- **Test connection** sends a ping to SiteMinder and, in pull mode, fetches waiting reservations at once.

Passwords must not contain `< > & " '` (SiteMinder rule); they are stored encrypted.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does it work with Little Hotelier?

Yes. Little Hotelier uses the same SiteMinder connection for reservations. Enter the hotel code of your Little Hotelier property.

### Test says the platform is not set up yet — what now?

The SiteMinder connection of the guest portal is not active yet. Contact us; your hotel code is kept, and reservations start arriving as soon as the platform is connected.

### Can I see reservations from before the connection?

SiteMinder delivers new reservations, changes and cancellations from the moment your property is connected. Enter earlier stays in the calendar, or ask SiteMinder to resend them.
