# Early check-in and late check-out Guests can buy an earlier arrival or a later departure directly in their stay guide. Guestbud only offers it when the calendar allows it, takes the payment through your Revolut account and moves the booking times — and the Nuki door code — automatically. The feature is **off by default**. ## Switch it on 1. Open **Settings → Early & late**. 2. Tick **Offer early check-in / late check-out to guests**. 3. Under **Early check-in** keep **Offer early check-in** ticked and enter up to three options, each a time and a price — for example *12:00 · €25* and *13:00 · €15*. 4. Under **Late check-out** do the same — for example *13:00 · €20*. 5. Keep **Only when there is no same-day changeover (recommended)** ticked. 6. **Save**. Times must be earlier than the property's normal check-in time (early) or later than its check-out time (late); other options are not shown. ## When guests see the offer - **Early check-in** is shown until the normal check-in time on the arrival day — and only if no other booking of the same property checks out that day. - **Late check-out** is shown until the normal check-out time — and only if no other booking of the same property checks in that day. - Cancelled bookings never see it; a guest can buy one early and one late option per stay. The offer appears as a card in the stay guide and in the guest's language. ## What happens after payment 1. The guest pays with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through your [Revolut account](/docs/revolut-payments). 2. The booking's check-in or check-out time changes to the time bought; the guide, the arrival steps and the check-out reminder show the new time. 3. With a [Nuki smart lock](/docs/nuki-smart-locks) the personal keypad code is moved to the new time on the next lock sweep. 4. You get a [phone notification](/docs/host-app-notifications) (*Early check-in / late check-out bought*) and the booking's activity log records it. 5. The amount is counted under **Early check-in / late check-out** in [Statistics](/docs/statistics) and sent in the `extras.paid` webhook. ## Example Anna books Friday to Monday. The previous guest leaves on Wednesday, so Friday has no changeover. Her guide shows *Arrive earlier — from 12:00 · €25*. She pays; her check-in becomes 12:00 and her keypad code works from 12:00. On Monday a new guest arrives, so the late check-out card is not shown to her. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can a guest buy early check-in on the day another guest leaves? Not with the changeover check on. If you turn the check off, Guestbud offers the times regardless — useful if your cleaners can always turn the apartment around in time. ### Can I refund an early check-in? Yes, like any extra: open the booking, **Payments**, and refund the order in Revolut. The time is not reset automatically — change it in the booking drawer if needed. ### Does it work through the API? Yes. `GET`/`PATCH /api/v1/settings` contains `stayTimes`; the booking shows the new `checkInTime`/`checkOutTime`. See the [API reference](/api/docs).
