The German Meldeschein, completed online by your guests
German holiday lets must register foreign guests (§§ 29–30 BMG). The guest portal collects the data and the signature online as part of the check-in, prints the bilingual form and deletes it after the retention period.

Only when it is needed
Per property you choose: automatic (German properties, non-German lead guest), always, or never. German citizens are exempt; spouses and minor children can be given by number only.
- Date of birth, nationality, home address
- Passport or ID card number
- Signature on the screen
- Co-travellers as the law requires
Faster with the EU Digital Identity Wallet
Guests with an EUDI Wallet fill in name, date of birth and nationality from the wallet via myeudi.app — marked as verified. The signature and the passport or ID card number are still given in the portal.
Retention handled for you
The law requires keeping the form for one year from departure and destroying it within three months afterwards (§ 30 (4) BMG). The portal deletes registration data, signature and ID photos automatically one year and seven days after departure — inside that window.

Frequently asked questions
Is a digital Meldeschein allowed?
The form may be completed and signed electronically; keep it for one year after departure and destroy it within three months afterwards. The portal prints or saves it as PDF and deletes it on schedule.
Do German guests need to fill it in?
No. In automatic mode the form is only collected for non-German lead guests.
Can I combine it with the Kurtaxe?
Yes. Create your town’s Kurtaxe as a tourist-tax definition; it is charged in the same check-in.
